HK-Macau 4D3N Trip - Day 2

Our plan was spend one day at Macau and take the ferry back to HK at night. I have done some research on the famous food and places in Macau. We woke up and reached the Honolulu Restaurant (檀香山茶餐厅)at around 6.15am, it was just as bright as 7+am in Malaysia.

We ordered 2 sets of breakfast which include Polo bun and a cup of hot milk tea (菠萝包和热奶茶). I just feel like eating this because often see the actors order Polo Bun and hot milk tea as breakfast or tea time in HK drama :p.

A set of Polo bun and hot milk tea cost HKD15/HKD16 (with butter) The bun is soft, other than that nothing so special.

Ok, here we go. You can take public buses that will bring you to China Ferry Terminal (中港城码头). I just walked from wuhu street (蕪湖街)to Ping Chi Street (平治街)and took Bus no.14 to the terminal. It took 15min to reach there and we bought the tickets that departed at 7.30am (it will take 60 to 75min to reach Macau's Ferry Terminal) . The ferry will depart every 30min from China Ferry Terminal, do check out the ferry departure schedule to get concessionary tickets. Economy class ticket price range from HKD145 to HKD193.

Itinerary in Macau:
Macau Fisherman's Wharf >> Margaret's Cafe e Nata >> 义顺牛奶 (Milk dessert shop) >> Largo de Senado >> Ruin of St.Paul >> Church of St. Augustine >> 黄枝记 (Noodles shop) >> 洪馨椰子>> Macau Ferry Terminal>> Hong Kong

From Macau Ferry Terminal, we walked to Macau's Fisherman Wharf to take some pictures. After photo session, you can cross the road to the famous casino "The Sand" (金沙娱乐场). I did not go inside as I am not interested in visiting casinos but we took free shuttle bus to Grand Emperor (another casino+hotel)-英皇娱乐场所 because it is located at the heart of the town where most of the tourists' attractions are nearby.

You can always use HKD in Macau or otherwise use HKD to exchange MOP (Macau Pataca). With HKD 100, you can get MOP 103. The first thing we do over there was- looked for the famous Portuguese Tart (蒲式蛋挞)@ Margeret's Cafe e Nata (玛嘉烈蛋挞).

MOP 8 per piece- Yummy!! The Tart skin is so crunchy and the filling is so smooth, I love it <3
Macau Pataca

Then while on the way walking to the Largo de Senado, we saw a milk dessert shop named 义顺牛奶 and walked in for the milk and egg dessert.

 驰名冻双皮炖奶-MOP 20
This milk dessert just taste like milk jelly, those who loves milk, i think it is worth a try.

冻冰花炖鸡蛋-MOP 15
This egg dessert, personally i don't like it :p, because the egg smell is too strong and i feel like vomit with every scoops i put into my mouth.

After that, we walked around at the Largo de Senado and Ruin of St. Pauls, there is nothing much to do here other than photos taking.

These are some of the places that we visited in Macau.

We had our lunch at Wong Chee Kei 黄枝记 (famous with the handmade noodles). You have to get number and queue outside the restaurant. The restaurant are always crowded and their customer service is not that good, so be patience. :)

Dry Shrimp egg noodles- MOP 36
The noodle is chewy and when you mix the shrimp egg together...hmmmhhh..hehe, but it is a little bit dry. The soup is nice and it taste like clear shrimp soup.

Shrimp Wonton- MOP 26
I love this!! It's yummy. It is definitely different from our Malaysia's Shrimp wonton. They wrapped the whole shrimp into the wonton skin and mixed with some minced pork. It is so juicy~~hmmmmmmm XD

If you opt to try the shrimp egg noodles and Shrimp wonton together, you can order Shrimp noodles with wonton and shrimp eggs for MOP 42.

After eating, we continued walking around in Macau streets. Then we bought two cups of coconut ice cream from 洪馨椰子.

A cup of coconut ice cream- Ooops, i forgot to jot down the price, if not mistaken is MOP 8 or less than that. It is so refreshing and not too sweet, Likesss!! It's like eating coconut meat blend with ice, but of course this is smoother than ice blended.

After a long walk, we felt that the legs are not belongs to us =.=!! We had some blisters on our legs (due to the poor quality slippers), oucchhhh..hence decided to go back to Hong Kong instead of following the original plan to the Venetian Casino and hunt for the famous pork chop bun and Bird nest's Tart. (@.@) I feel so regretful for not following the original plan. I wanna try the pork chop bun!!!

We departed from Macau to HK at 5.30pm and the ferry ticket price cost us about MOP 158 per person. After 6pm, you will be charged for the night surcharge. We reached HK around 6 something and took bus back to Hung Hom. After bathing, we went to hunt for the famous pork burger in Hung Hom.

双层芝士汉堡包,沙律酱@时新快餐店 (Double cheese Pork burger with salad sauce) HKD 15 (You can choose either beef or bork burger for same price) I chose Pork burger.

This restaurant got more than 200 likes from openrice.com and personally, I love this pork burger so much. Why? The meat is well seasoned and so juicy and the bun is crunchy, probably what I can complaint about is the pork burger is a bit oily.

Pork chop bun- HKD 13, It's sad that the bone is more than the meat and the meat is stiff and the taste is normal. No surprise.

After dinner, we took MTR to Hong Kong Island and to enjoy tour in HK Island by riding on the Tram (叮叮车). We took the tram from Central to Shau Kei Wan (last station) and accidentally found this restaurant. I started to miss the curry fish balls and Shark fin soup T.T

Shark fin soup (碗仔翅)-HKD15 , Owh...it is so tasty and the fish meat is so chewy, everything so match!! Recommended!!

Curry fish balls (辣咖喱鱼蛋)-HKD 15(10 pieces) I think this is the best curry fish balls I have had in HK, the fish ball absorbed the curry and it is so chewy. I just wish to empty the curry in the bowl. Recommended!!

Then we walked to the MTR station and took MTR back to Central and walked to Lan Kwai Fong just to feel the atmosphere there. Afterwards, back to hotel and had a good night rest...Tired...zzZZZ

Hong Kong and Macau 4D3N Trip- Day 1

It was a big mistake to make the trip so short, but it was a good experience too. For the first timer to travel outside the country, we booked the air tickets from air asia last year during promotions. By considering the accommodation's fees and we thought that 3 days should be enough, we booked tickets that depart at 4.45pm and reached HK at night (roughly 4 hrs from Malaysia). I can tell this is a big mistake @.@ There are lots of good food to taste and a lots of nice place to visit, 3 days are just not enough. But anyway, i do enjoy the trip to the fullest :)

We booked an hotel (Hung Hom Bridal Tea House, Wuhu street) and it cost roughly rm 200++ per night (because we made the booking at last minutes :p) or else it might be cheaper. We reached HK at around 9+pm and bought Airport Express Travel Pass cost HKD 300 per pass. Personally feel that it is worth for travelers who do not wish to sign up any tour packages later on. The pass includes 2 ways of airport transfer, 3 days unlimited travels on MTR, Light rail and MTR buses and u also can top up some money into the pass and use it as octopus card, HKD 50 and the remaining value in the pass will be returned to you once you return the card to the counter. (Remember to take the Travelling guides at Airport before heading to airport express station)

It took around 20 to 30 min to reach Kowloon station from airport (Route: Airport>>Tsing Yi>> Kowloon>>Hong Kong) and then we took the free airport express shuttle bus service (K1) to reach Hung Hom MTR station. From there, we took around 15-20min to walk to the hotel (actually it just need 10min walk from Hung Hom MTR to Bridal Tea House).

It's true! The room is small but i was amazed that they can fully utilized every single space. The length of the bed is about my height around 169cm, those who are taller, ermm...I have no idea on what you can do..haha..probably ask for a bigger room??XD This is how's our room looks like..

We were so hungry and hence out for hunting. Hmph...most of the shops were closed, so we ended up eating at a Char Chan Ting (Restaurant) name HonoLulu Restaurant. We ordered a set cost HKD 30 which include a bowl of pork slices Ramen and a cup of hot Milk Tea.

HK Style Milk Tea- Great! I LIKE it ^^v
 Pork Slices Ramen

The ramen and soup just taste OK but the pork slices taste GREAT and it was a bit chewy. After the supper, we walked back to hotel and get a good sleep. Prepare for tomorrow-Macau..
